THE PROCESS

Each piece is uniquely created with sustainably sourced wood primarily from the Shawangunks, Catskill Mountains & Hudson Valley Region, and handmade in harmony with the environment.

All artwork is handmade using traditional European tools. A large cast iron lathe in combination with a few hand-held turning gouges, carving chisels and a chain saw.

CREATIVE PROCESS

Video of turning a large Sycamore blank on the lathe. Shaping the form with handheld turning gouges.

CREATION OF A TRANSLUCENT LAMPSHADE

Guided only by feeling and the amount of light shining through the wood, these lampshades are handmade to a very fine thickness that displays the unique grain pattern and creates a warm glow.
