Claudio Sebastian studied high-end furniture making in his hometown of Garmisch Partenkirchen in Bavaria, Germany when he discovered the art of woodturning. Almost immediately doors opened up and he was able to find his own very unique way of expression through this ancient practice of shaping wood on a lathe. With the help of his teacher and mentor G. Heimrath he was able to develop special techniques that allowed him to turn wood into very thin translucent objects as well as utilize very large pieces of wood for sculptural work. The desire to feature special grain patterns, bark inclusions and burls and merge them with simple lines and elegant designs was lovingly supported by his teacher and shaped his esthetic perception into the present.

Originally from the German Alps, and trained in the traditional woodworking mastery of the German lineages, Claudio Sebastian Stalling's work is a synthesis of over 20 years of experience and the overall collection is inspired by pure nature design in elemental symbiosis from nature to art in sensible approach and realization.
